Biography:
Dr. Aaron J. Hart joined IUPUI as the Director of Housing and Residence Life in July 2011. In his current role, Dr. Hart serves as the chief housing officer responsible for the leadership, development and overall management of 2,000 students in five residential and apartment complexes, overseeing all departments, including finance and administration, facilities, housing operations, residence life and academic initiatives. Dr. Hart has over 15 years of diverse work experience at multiple levels within housing and residence life including UCLA, Arizona State University, the University of Illinois at Chicago, the University of South Florida and American Campus Communities.

Dr. Hart has significant experience in key areas within housing and residence life regarding student development, multicultural competence, leadership, and budgetary expertise.  Dr. Hart has authored several articles and presented at national conferences on various topics related to student development theory, legal issues in higher education, professional development and best practices for housing and residence life. Dr. Hart is an active member in NASPA, ACPA, ACUHO-I, and serves on several national committees.
