Julie Hoggatt joined the Office of Student Advocacy and Support as the student support specialist in November 2023. She plays a crucial role in addressing the diverse challenges that students encounter in their personal and academic lives. Hoggatt’s primary responsibilities involve providing consultation and case management to students facing basic needs challenges, advocating for their needs, and connecting them to relevant on- and off-campus resources. Additionally, she contributes to the development and implementation of community resource fairs on campus to raise awareness of local resources and to establish partnerships with off-campus agencies. Hoggatt is dedicated to training and supporting students in skill development to navigate their challenges, overseeing the R.O.A.R. website, and collaborating with on-campus partners to address needs insecurity of students. She also has experience working closely with current and former youth and young adults in foster care.
