Spring 2017 Offerings
The Professional Development Committee is excited to offer a variety of programs this semester for Division of Student Affairs staff. The Division hosted a retreat on Friday, January 27th at the Indiana Historical Society. The committee is currently planning a book series and miniseries on change management. More information on these opportunities will be shared here when they are available.
The Division has also launched a multicultural competence series which will include one educational session each month. These sessions are required of all Division staff and will be recorded for viewing by future Division staff. Sessions and speakers are listed below. Links to the video sessions will be sent via the Division listserv. Session 3: LGBTQ+ Students with Tristan Vaught, director of the IUPUI LGBTQ+ Center
Session 4: Latino/a Students with Jose Vargas-Vila, professor and director of Latino studies, School of Liberal Arts
Session 5: Low SES Students with Dr. Peter Seybold, associate professor of sociology, School of Liberal Arts
