Campus Abstraction

BY NEVADA O. J. BUCKLEY-KING

Created in 2010, Campus Abstraction depicts an aerial view of the IUPUI campus. Artist Nevada O. J. Buckley-King turned the shapes of roads and buildings into an abstract composition using bright colors and unique textures. Using green dots to symbolize students, Nevada included herself in the painting as a dot in the Herron School of Art and Design as a member of the class of 2012. Campus Abstraction was presented to the IUPUI Campus Center by the Indiana University Foundation through their annual Spirit of Philanthropy celebration.
