Tournament Rules
Rules for Table Tennis
  1. Tournaments will be single elimination. The bracket will be filled out via a blind draw as participants check into the tournament.
  2. Failure to appear on time to this event will result in your elimination from the tournament.
  3. If someone does not show up or there are an odd number of participants, there will be a bye given for that round. In cases where there is a waiting list, substitutions will be filled in draw order.
  4. The tournament will follow official ITTF Rules. A copy of the rules can also be found in the Game Room.
  5. The first player to reach 11 points wins the game. Rounds 1 and 2 will be best of three (3), Rounds 3 – Final will be best of five (5).
  6. Tournament matches will be self-officiated. If there is a dispute, the tournament director will make the final decision.
  7. The tournament will have two (3) table tennis tables during play. Table selection is determined by the bracket listing.
  8. Table Tennis paddles will be provided, however, players may bring their own paddle if they choose.
  9. 3 star balls will be used for the tournament.
  10. There is a 2 minute warm up before the start of the first game.

Rules for 9-Ball

  1. Tournaments will be single elimination. The bracket will be filled out via a blind draw at check-in.
  2. Failure to appear on time to this event will result in your elimination from the tournament.
  3. If someone does not show up or there are an odd number of participants, there will be a bye given for that round. In cases where there is a waiting list, substitutions will be filled in draw order.
  4. The tournament will follow official BCA Rules. A copy of the rules can also be found in the Game Room.
  5. Each round will be the best of two (2) out of three (3) except the final round which will be the best three (3) out of five (5).
  6. Tournament matches will be self-officiated. If there is a dispute, the tournament director will make the final decision.
  7. There will be a 2 minute warm-up period before the start of the first game.
  8. The winner of the lag will determine who breaks first. Subsequent games players will alternate breaks.
  9. Cue sticks will be provided, however, players are allowed to use their own cue if they choose.
  10. Coaching: no one will be allowed to assist any player with decisions during the game. Anyone who does will be asked to leave.

Rules for Bags
  1. Tournaments will be single elimination. The bracket will be filled out via a blind draw at check-in.
  2. Failure to appear on time to this event will result in your elimination from the tournament.
  3. Each player/team alternates throws until all bean bags have been played.
  4. Each bean bag that stays on the board is worth one point, each one that has gone through the hole is worth 3 points.
  5. In cancellation scoring, the points of one player cancel out the points of their opponent.
  6. The team who scored the preceding frame shall pitch first in the next frame. If neither team scores, the team who pitched first in the preceding frame shall retain first pitch in the next frame.
  7. Any bean bag that stays halfway on the board counts as points.
  8. A bean bang may not bounce from the ground on to the board
  9. A player’s foot must not cross the end of the board.
  10. The game shall be played to twenty one (21) points. The first team to reach/exceed that amount at the conclusion of a competition is the winner.

Rules for FIFA Video Game Tournament
  1. Tournaments will be single elimination. The bracket will be filled out via a blind draw at check-in.
  2.  Failure to appear on time to this event will result in your elimination from the tournament.
  3. All games are played on the EA Sports FIFA 14 and a PS4.
  4. There will be no coaching allowed.
  5. There will be no memory cards or saved games are permitted.
  6. Players are prohibited from wearing headsets and may not listen to any music via headphones.
  7. Controllers are supplied by the IUPUI Game Room. It is the responsibility of all players to be familiar with the controller’s functions and mode of operation.
  8. Any regular season teams, as installed with the original game, can be selected except for all-star teams.
  9. Each player will have 2 minutes to configure the game settings and set their line-ups.
  10. Games in the first three rounds will be played for 5 minute halves and the semi-finals and finals will be played for 6 minute halves.
  11. The Game Settings are as follows:
    1. Difficulty Level: World Class
    2. Injuries: On
    3. Offside: On
    4. Time/Score Display: On
    5. Camera: Tele
    6. Radar: 2D or 3D
    7. Home Auto Switching: User Settings
    8. Away Auto Switching: User Settings
    9. Volume Settings: Default
    10. Extra Time: Extra time of two one (1) minute halves will be played in the event of a draw after regulation. Penalties will decide the winner if after extra time the score are level.
