Group fitness is a great opportunity to explore a new dimension of fitness after class, before a meal, or in the evening for a study break. These classes focus on a specialized format, individual progression, and skill development. Classes fill on a first-come, first-served basis. Please call Campus Recreation at (317) 274-2824 for more information.

Check out this semester's schedule above for group fitness class times and locations. You can also find classes and stay up to date with the fitness schedule using the Rec It Fitness app. Complete descriptions of classes that may be offered are below:

BodyBlast is a full-body workout that targets areas such as the shoulders, arms, back, chest, hips, thighs, and buttocks. The exercises follow a format that allows for no rest in between. The tempo of the exercises fluctuates from slow to pulsing repetitions that allow for a more intense workout.

BOSU Training is a 30-minute workout where participants use a BOSU ball. Your body is forced to recruit numerous core and stabilizing muscles in order to balance, allowing you to develop your core muscles and improve strength and balance like no other exercise.

Challenge Training is the workout for you if you're planning to run an obstacle course. Weather it is your first attempt for a mudathon or you're more experienced, let campus be your playground! Challenge training techniques will prepare you for anything that the toughest mud run could throw your way. Class locations all over campus allow you to get to know IUPUI in a whole new light. Your coach will help you run, jump, climb, and crawl your way to your fitness goals.

CoreBlast is a 20-minute ab workout composed of 3 different circuits that will strengthen and tone your abdominals.

Indoor Cycling is a high-energy class with great music. This class consists of riding a mixture of flats, hills, and sprints while burning calories all the way!

Kettlebell® Training lets you swing, throw, and catch your way to tighter legs, glutes, back, arms, and abdominals. It is the ultimate momentum-based workout that develops cardiovascular conditioning, power, stability, flexibility, balance, and agility.

Pilates consists of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements. It emphasizes use of the abdominals, lower back, hips, and thighs and is designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, and posture, as well as enhance mental awareness.

Portable Circuit Training is a high-intensity circuit-training workout that incorporates specialized equipment such as kettlebells, ViPR® Fit, running, jumping, crawling, pulling, and more to push you to your limits. Enjoy this fun, challenging workout, which can be customized to your own goals and fitness levels. This class will never leave you bored!

Tabata Training is a 30-minute workout consisting of high-intensity interval training (HIIT). You'll work through eight rounds of ultra-high-intensity exercises in specific 20-seconds-on, 10-seconds-off intervals.

TRX® is a workout system that leverages gravity and your own body weight to perform hundreds of exercises. You’re in control of how much you want to challenge yourself on each exercise; simply adjust your body position to add or decrease resistance. The TRX Suspension Trainer is an effective total-body workout, increases muscular endurance, and benefits all fitness levels.

Turbo Kick is a fast-paced kick boxing workout mixed with hip hop moves for a cardio workout.

ViPR® Fit is our new indestructible portable, fitness tool that you can lift, drag, throw, and step on. ViPR® provides an effective, whole-body workout that builds muscle and burns calories through strength and movement training. Maximize your workout with resistance and cardiovascular training.

Yoga is included in membership at no additional cost. The Campus Recreation noontime yoga series' main emphasis is on physical and mental conditioning through various postures, stretching, breathing, and relaxation. Yoga increases flexibility while building strength and stamina. It improves posture, rejuvenates energy levels, relieves stress, reduces fatigue, and diminishes chronic pain. Beginner and intermediate levels are available, although some advance poses will be taught.

Zumba is the "Latin-inspired, easy-to-follow, calorie-burning, FEEL-IT-TO-THE-CORE FITNESS PARTY."
