Stress and nervousness are natural parts of life, but anxiety that interferes with your ability to do the things you need to do is not.

Clinical anxiety takes many forms, including:

  • worries,
  • fear or avoidance of specific situations,
  • intrusive thoughts,
  • repetitive behaviors,
  • persistent or intrusive memories of a past trauma, or,
  • physical symptoms of distress (e.g., racing heart, difficulty breathing, shaking, nausea).
