JagNation: A Culture of Care
NCAA CHOICES Grant

NCAA Choices logoThe purpose of this grant project is to equip students with the knowledge, desire and confidence to make legal and low-risk choices about their alcohol use, to create a positive, supportive, and healthy campus culture that reinforces and sustains low-risk choices, and to develop collaborative partnerships between disparate offices and with innovative student leaders to create a lasting collegial infrastructure for alcohol education and prevention. This vision will be achieved through highly visible social marketing campaigns, energetic skill-building workshops, a new JagNation Ambassador training program, and the strategic use of new and refreshed partnerships to expand current program offerings.

JagNation: Winning CHOICES compliments the development of the campus’ prosocial community initiative, known as JagNation: A Culture of Care, which creates a safe and positive campus climate by empowering bystanders to “step up” to prevent alcohol poisoning, sexual assault, hazing, and discrimination. The present grant proposal describes a springboard that will propel campus-wide alcohol education and prevention efforts to an engaging and dynamic program that will find a sustainable home within the broader JagNation initiative.
