Jacqulyn is entering her 5th year at IUPUI and is looking forward to entering the Teacher Education Program starting this fall. Through her time at IUPUI, she has lived on campus for four years, played recreational volleyball, and was Mentor of the Year (2014) for 21st Century Scholar Success Mentoring Program; meanwhile, holding three on-campus jobs at the Center for Young Children, University College Advising as a peer mentor, and as the program assistant for 21st Century Scholar. This year, she is excited and proud to add the title of a Student Transition Specialist through Educational Partnership and the Student Advocacy.  Her advice to incoming students is to, “Take your time when deciding what you want to do. The choice is ultimately yours; follow your heart and intuition and take every opportunity that is thrown at you!”, and for parents, “We promise that the transition is just as challenging for us as it is for you. We need your encouragement, praise, and love and don’t think that we don’t appreciate the care packages and the million phone calls (because we do!).”  Jacqulyn admires her family the most for their unconditional love and support throughout the milestones in her life. She believes that attending JagVenture will help with developing the foundation of your collegiate experience, allows you to learn and grow as a person, and challenges you physically and mentally!
