Fraternity & Sorority Life

Community Governance

As the fraternity and sorority life program at IUPUI has grown, so has its model for governing the community. January 2010 marked the first time we had elected student leadership across all three councils. The elected leadership serves as leaders within the fraternity and sorority community providing direction and guidance for not only their respective council but the overall development of the community.

  • Interfraternity Council (IFC)

The Interfraternity Council is the governing and coordinating body of the seven IFC fraternities supporting the IFC fraternity men, and serving the IUPUI Community. The vision for the council is to be a "United, self-governed community that is a driving force of campus life at IUPUI."

  • National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)

The National Pan-Hellenic Council consists of the 5 Historically Black Greek-Letter-Organizations at IUPUI. Starting out as the Black Greek Council, the council formally switched its name to NPHC in late 2005. The IUPUI NPHC strives to promote an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation to improve the council, its member organizations, and the IUPUI Greek community at large.

  • Panhellenic Association (PHA)

The Panhellenic Association exists to promote the values of and advocate for its member organizations through collaboration on campus and in the community. The council (elected leadership) provides support and guidance for sororities/women's fraternities by serving as the voice on contemporary issues of sorority life.

  • Order of Omega (Order)

Order of Omega is a leadership honor society for fraternity and sorority organizations. The society honors juniors and seniors who exemplify high standards in the areas of scholarship, leadership, involvement within their respective organization and within the fraternity and sorority, campus, and local community. Members are selected from the top 3% of students.

  • Fraternity and Sorority Life Ethics Board

The charge of the IUPUI Fraternity and Sorority Ethics Board (FSEB) is to serve as the self-disciplining board of the fraternity and sorority community and to promote responsible behavior and appropriate standards of conduct.

  • Fraternity and Sorority Life Programming Board

The Fraternity and Sorority Life Programming Board collaborates with the Interfraternity Council (IFC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and Panhellenic Association (PHA) to help bring together the councils as a unified body through education, programing, social and philanthropic/community service events.
