Homecoming

General Information:
This contest gives registered student organizations the opportunity to show their Jaguar pride by participating in a series of events throughout the academic year. The Homecoming phase is worth a total of 350 points. Below are the events included.

  • Informational Meeting

    There will be two informational meetings held on Wednesday, October 19th from 11-12pm and from 5-6pm.  The informational meeting is worth 20 points. Every organization is required to send a representative to the informational meeting. Failure to attend will disqualify an organization from participating in the Student Organization Contest.
  • Photo Scavenger Hunt

    • Throughout Homecoming Week teams will be asked to take certain photos at different events.
    • “Clues” will be given at the informational meeting as to what pictures need to be taken and when during Homecoming Week.
    • Pictures must include at least three members from the team.
    • Pictures must be uploaded to both Instagram using #gobigorgohomecoming and to box  
    • Each picture is worth 10 points and there will be a total of 8 pictures totalling 80 points.
  • Little Indy Pinewood Derby

    • Student organizations will be required to design and race a car in the Little Indy Pinewood Derby.

    • Student Organizations will be required to abide by all Pinewood Derby Policies

    • The student organization that places the highest (out of all competing student organizations) will receive 60 points.

    • The student organization that places the second highest (out of all competing student organizations) will receive 50 points.

    • The student organization that places the third highest (out of all competing student organizations) will receive 40 points.

  • Fall Fest

    • Student organizations will be required to have a table at Fall Fest to provide a positive trick or treating experience for Fall Fest Guests (orgs will need to provide their own candy)

    • Student organizations must provide a family-friendly atmosphere at their table.

    • Participation in Fall Fest is worth 45 points.
  • Banner Decorating

    • Student organizations will design a banner representing their organization that will be hung in the CUBE.

    • The student organization that wins this competition will receive 50 points.

    • The student organization that places second will receive 40 points.

    • The student organization that places third will receive 30 points.
  • Spirit Points

    • Spirit Points will be awarded to all organizations that display their spirit during the 3 of the 4 athletic events throughout the week of Homecoming. Organizations will receive a point for each person representing their organization.  Organizations can receive a maximum of 15 points per game, totalling 45 points.  The events are as follows:

      • Women’s Soccer vs. Western Illinois (10/23)

      • Women’s Volleyball vs. South Dakota State (10/23)

      • Red/White Scrimmage (10/25)

      • Men’s Soccer Game vs. Northern Kentucky (10/26)
  • Online Voting Pole

    • The online voting poll will be through a survey that students who attend Homecoming events will receive in their university email.  

    • Everyone who attends a Homecoming event will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite student organization. If students attend multiple events, they can vote multiple times.

    • The student organization with the highest number of votes will receive 50 points.

    • The student organization with the second highest number of votes will receive 40 points
