Off Campus Housing Resources
This is the Time to Start Planning for 2017-2018 Housing Options
Students at IUPUI have many options for on and off campus housing. It is important for students and families to start looking and applying for housing options early to ensure your best selections. Many downtown Indianapolis apartments close to IUPUI utilize wait lists. This means students must have their name on the list, and once apartments become available, the apartment complex will contact your student. Utilize this property listing site to search for housing options in the Indianapolis area. There are filter options available that can help your student find which properties are closest in proximity to the IUPUI campus.
While looking for housing options, be mindful of transportation needs.
What transportation is available to your student? How does your student plan on getting to campus (walk, bike, bus or drive)? Be sure to check the apartment’s distance to campus and whether it is walking, biking, or driving distance. Your student can visit IndyGo.net to locate the nearest bus route to their potential housing.
If your student needs a roommate, they can check the classified ads section on One.
Students can log into One.IU utilizing their IUPUI login and password (http://one.iu.edu). From there, they should type Classifieds in the search bar. Then select ‘roommates and sublets’.
Check out the crime statistics for the areas of Indianapolis in which your student is searching for housing.

When searching for housing, consider the following:
What lengths of leases are available? For which utility bills will your student be responsible? How much is rent? How much is the security deposit? Is the apartment furnished or unfurnished? Are there any security measures in place?
