Julie Lash works from a person-centered foundation and draws from psychodynamic, cognitive, feminist, and developmental theories. She integrates exploration of the social, cultural, and personal values of the client to ensure that interventions and desired outcomes are consistent with their identity. Lash’s clinical interests include post-trauma work, childhood abuse and neglect, and identity development.

Lash has been with IUPUI CAPS since 2000 and has served as director since 2007. She works with campus partners in prevention of and response to sexual and relationship violence, and provides training in trauma-informed practice. She also works with the IUPUI Behavioral Consultation Team to mitigate crises as well as with a range of campus partners in providing post-crisis support.
