Zach Wadley joined the IUPUI staff in the spring of 2020 as the communications specialist for IU Studios and the Division of Student Affairs.
Wadley comes to IUPUI after spending four years as the sports information director at Marian University – Indianapolis. While at Marian, Wadley was named the Crossroads League Sports Information Director of the Year and was a finalist for the NAIA National SID of the Year. The Knights saw growth across all social media platforms, and at the time of his departure, had the most Twitter followers in the NAIA.
Marian was featured in the Indy Star, WTHR, RTV6, FOX 59, CBS 4 and WISH-TV at a local level, and featured on ESPN, Sports Illustrated and NFL Network on a national level in his four years.
A 2014 graduate of Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, Wadley spent three years as a student assistant in the AU sports information office. While at Anderson, he provided play-by-play and color commentary for seven different sports, and assisted on postgame releases, stats and public address announcing. Wadley also served three years as the sports editor of Anderson’s student newspaper, The Andersonian, and covered all 15 intercollegiate sports at AU.
Upon graduation from Anderson, the Bourbonnais, Illinois, native was hired as a graduate assistant in the Illinois State athletics communications office. Wadley obtained his Master’s degree in sport management while serving as the primary media contact for women’s soccer and softball. Wadley served as the play-by- play commentator, produced weekly game notes and preseason media guides and maintained the ISU athletics website, GoRedbirds.com.
Wadley has also worked with the Big Ten Conference during the men’s basketball tournament in Indianapolis and the NCAA during the men’s basketball Midwest Regional at Lucas Oil Stadium.
He and his wife, Natalie, reside in Fishers.
