Paws' Pantry
Paws’ Pantry will be open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (students, faculty, and staff). The pantry will be closed Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, and Dec. 23-24.
Clients can visit the pantry twice per month.
Clients will be required to fill out an online form, at least 24 hours in advance, to select an appointment time during operating hours. Up to two clients can be scheduled for each appointment time. On the form, clients will also select their food/household/hygiene products of choice to go into a pre-packed bag for pick up during their appointment time. The shopping model used prior to the pandemic will not be available this semester. Visit paws.iupui.edu to sign up.
Yes, clients are still required to bring their CrimsonCard to the pantry in order to receive their pre-packed bags. If you forget your card or don’t bring it, you will be asked to return at a later date/time to retrieve your bag(s).
A volunteer will be at the check-in table in the door of the pantry. They will scan your CrimsonCard, and get you processed through our online check-in system. The volunteer will retrieve your pre-packed bag(s) and set them on the table. You will be free to go after that. The whole process may take up to 5 minutes per client. You will be asked to maintain social distancing and wear a mask during your appointment.
The form to request an appointment for that day will not be available. You will need to request an appointment for the following day(s) or week.
Walk-up hours are not available for the intersession. If you need access to food, email jagsfood@iupui.edu to make arrangements.
Yes, all clients will need to fill out the new client intake form once it goes live during the first week of classes. New clients can access the pantry prior to the first week of classes, and will be asked to fill out the form once it goes live.
We will make every effort to fulfill your order as requested depending on inventory and availability. If you do receive items that aren’t your preference, we will not be allowing exchanges at this time. You can return unwanted items to the orange bin located outside of the pantry.
All items will be in pre-packed plastic bags. New clients will not receive tote bags at this time.
Yes, all clients will be required to wear a mask for their appointment.
We are operating an appointment-only process, which allows 2 people to pick up items at a time. For walk up days, if more than a few clients are gathering at the pantry at the same time, a volunteer will give numbers to clients and direct them to a designated waiting area. A second volunteer will coordinate with the pantry and clients to process through the wait list.
Limited volunteer spots will be available. We encourage you to sign up online early. Last minute volunteer inquiries will most likely not be accommodated.
Yes, we are still accepting donations in any of our orange crates around campus, or given directly to the pantry during operating hours.
