Announcements

March 30, 2020 Update

Dear IUPUI Students:

On March 15, 2020, President McRobbie announced that IU is suspending face-to-face classes and transitioning to virtual learning for the remainder of spring semester. With this announcement, many of you who lived in campus housing, acquired meal plans, and/or purchased a membership to the fitness center no longer have access to these services. Therefore, the following prorated credits—if applicable—will be posted to your bursar account during the week of March 30:

Housing
The credit will reflect the remaining days of your housing contract between March 21 and May 10. For questions regarding the Campus Housing credit, contact reslife@iupui.edu.

Campus Recreation Fee
The credit will be 50 percent of the spring Campus Recreation fee. For questions regarding the Campus Recreation Fee credit, contact recsuper@iupui.edu.

In addition, if you purchased a meal plan, you will receive the applicable prorated credits during the week of April 6th:

Meal Plans

Traditional Meal Plan: Students who purchased a spring 2020 traditional meal plan (All Access or 14 Meal Swipes Per Week Plan) will be credited for the 48 days remaining in the semester.
Block Meal Plan: Students who purchased fall 2019 or spring 2020 block meal plans (Jazzy, Jags, Jawz, and Jinx) will be credited any remaining meal swipes and dining dollars.

You can check your meal plan balance at the CrimsonCard Card Management Website

Additionally, if you purchased either the traditional meal plan or block meal plans, you will have the option to convert your balance to CrimsonCash, which makes the funds available for use on your CrimsonCard. To do this, you must complete the Meal Plan to Crimson Cash Conversion Request by Wednesday, April 1 at 5 p.m. EST. CrimsonCash will be available for your use on Monday, April 6 and can be used at any CrimsonCard vendor including IUPUI Dining Service locations.

For questions regarding the meal plan credit, contact meals@iupui.edu. Due to call volume, all phone calls to the Meal Plan Office are being routed and responded to via this email address.

Any credits received as noted above will first be applied to any unpaid charges on your bursar account, with any remaining credit applied to future charges such as Summer and/or Fall 2020 enrollment. If you would like to request an immediate refund of any remaining credit, please complete the COVID-19 Refund Request form.

Thanks for your continued patience as we work through this situation together.

All the best,

As I said in my message sent late last week, I am sure you never would have dreamed that your spring semester would turn out this way. Our graduating seniors and those finishing graduate and professional degrees may be feeling especially unsettled as they countdown the days to graduation in such unusual circumstances. Please remember that this situation doesn’t change the fact that you have worked very hard to make it to this point in your education and you will be closing out the semester with the strength and resilience that characterizes our entire campus community. IUPUI faculty and staff are proud of you and stand ready to support you at this very difficult time.

Sincerely,

Dr. Eric A. Weldy
