As a theoretical orientation, Liza Fuquher believes that clients are the experts in their own lives. This person-centered approach is joined with narrative and feminist frameworks to collaboratively write life stories that are empowering and feel authentic to one’s unique identity. In clinical practice, Fuquher uses principles and techniques from positive psychology coaching, yoga, and mindfulness to teach new skills and retrain the brain to more effectively navigate stressful situations, relationships, and self-image.

Fuquher has worked extensively in treating anxiety, perinatal mood disorders, and eating disorders using DBT and ACT skills training. She is passionate about assisting those going through life adjustments, coping with grief and loss, divorce, and chronic illness and anyone interested in practicing acceptance and self-compassion to navigate difficult emotions. In addition to the mind, Fuquher focuses on clients’ physical and spiritual health to overcome perfectionism and embrace the lessons that come from challenges and struggles.
