Were you successful in high school but are now finding it difficult to maintain your level of performance? In some cases, the explanation may be a learning, attention deficit/hyperactivity, or autism spectrum disorder. While these are lifelong conditions, they can sometimes go undiagnosed until you enter the college environment where increased work load and complex learning can’t be defeated by pure hard work and persistence.
If you suspect that one of these lifelong conditions may be affecting your ability to succeed at IUPUI, we offer evaluation to assist you in finding treatment and accommodations. If you have been previously diagnosed with a learning or developmental disorder, we can also offer re-evaluation to update your documentation.
IUPUI CAPS is currently providing assessments through a combination of telehealth and in-person services. The availability of in-person services will be based on the public health situation. Remote administration of some tests requires adaptation of standardized testing practices. IUPUI Adaptive Educational Services has agreed to accept assessment results based on these adaptations. We cannot guarantee that other agencies or organizations will accept remote testing results.
If your concerns are outside our scope of practice, or we are not able to meet your evaluation needs in a timely manner, we will provide case management services to assist you in connecting with a provider in the community.
