Alcohol and other drugs

There are many misconceptions about alcohol and drug use in college. This can sometimes cause students to consume more than is healthy or in ways that don’t match their personal values. Are you concerned about your drinking or substance use? Have you found yourself wondering how much is too much?

These self-screenings can help you assess your own alcohol consumption patterns, a key to determining if you currently have a drinking problem or may be at risk of experiencing negative consequences related to drinking.

The Division of Student Affairs also hosts an alcohol screening day each September. Students can take a self-assessment at the event and discuss their results with clinical staff. Professionals from CAPS and Health and Wellness Promotion will be available to answer your questions about alcohol and other drug use as well as provide educational materials.

You can also find more strategies to reduce your risk from alcohol or drug use, as well as alcohol poisoning, and information about addiction recovery support at Education and Outreach.
