Best part about working at IUPUI?

Having an impact on students' lives on a daily basis. I appreciate having a workplace that has taken COVID-19 very seriously, and we are doing great as an institution and department to make sure that we can remain open and functioning for our students.

Favorite Halloween candy?

I love sweets, so this is hard to choose just one. For chocolate, it's Snickers, Reese’s and Twix. I also love Life Savers Big Ring Gummies.

Favorite cartoon show growing up?

Scooby-Doo.

What attracted you to the residence life job field?

I really enjoyed being involved on campus in undergrad, so I decided to continue doing work on campus! I feel like higher education/student affairs keeps you young and engaged. Residence life truly prepares you for work anywhere else.

Best piece of advice you have been given?

Your energy and mood may shift, but always give your best effort each day, even if that effort is more or less than the day before.

Describe your perfect day.

The perfect work day: Got a good night's sleep, so I'm ready for all the meetings of the day. I have an amazing lunch. I am able to speak with students, RAs and coworkers (face-to-face and not on Zoom) and make an impact in someone’s life. Overall, productivity is high, and I’m able to accomplish all of my tasks.

The perfect non-work day: Sleeping in, having a good workout, then eating a nice breakfast. The weather is 63 and sunny outside so going out to hang with family and friends for some outdoor activities and eating a delicious lunch. Then ending the evening with a wonderful dinner and lounging around watching a good movie and eating dessert. I love food, so any day that has three good meals and some great desserts along the way.
