Spring Weeks of Welcome launches Feb. 8

The spring semester has been up and running online for a few weeks, but it’s finally time to welcome students back to campus. With the student body’s return, spring Weeks of Welcome is ready to kick off the new semester with a two-week schedule of events.

The campus tradition serves as a welcome to all students, both new and returning, and is an introduction to what it means to be a Jaguar.

“Getting involved in WOW will provide students the means to connect with their campus community,” said Brett Watson, associate director of Educational Partnerships and Student Success. “Through various WOW events, students will learn about campus resources and support services all while having fun.”

Fun has looked a little different this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but WOW will feature plenty of virtual options with a few in-person events sprinkled in. The calendar is jam-packed and students can stay up to date on the daily schedule at wow.iupui.edu and The Spot.

The first week kicks off with an in-person bookstore tour and also features a virtual fraternity info night, study abroad updates, resume workshops and multiple trivia nights. A sorority info night highlights the week two schedule.

Throughout the two weeks, contests will be running live on the Division of Student Affairs social media accounts with the chance to win free gear and more. Follow DoSA on Twitter and Instagram to enter.

The WOW info table will be located on the first floor of the Campus Center near the Information Desk, close to the food court and escalators. The table will provide daily event highlights and flyers Monday through Friday and will be staffed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Please feel free to stop by to ask question, check out the full list of events or even say hello,” said Watson. “We hope students will take full advantage of the various activities.”
