What is the best part about living in Indy?
I would say that the best part is that Indy has so much to offer. If you’re looking for some time to relax in nature, you can find it. If you want a lively downtown scene, you can find it. I love that you can feel like you’re in an entirely different place just by traveling 20 minutes around town.

What is a hobby you got into during the quarantine/pandemic?
Gardening! At the start of the pandemic I decided to plant some bell pepper seeds from a few bell peppers I got from the grocery store. I think it was part panic-prepping and part boredom, but by the end of the summer I had five thriving bell pepper plants! I’m also not sure if composting can be considered a hobby, but I became very invested in starting and nurturing our compost bin throughout quarantine.

What's your favorite place you have traveled to?
Colorado. I lived in Denver for a few years both as a kid and during grad school, and I love it. I didn’t have a ton of time to explore while I lived there but would visit again in a heartbeat. Put me anywhere in Colorado and I would be happy—in the mountains in a cabin watching the snow fall, watching a concert at Red Rocks, exploring Boulder. You name it—I’m there!

Why is your job rewarding?
I’ve found my job to be rewarding because it allows me the opportunity to assist students in navigating complex situations. Whether sharing options with them that they weren’t previously aware of, empowering them to make the decision that is best for them or simply listening to their concerns, I appreciate the opportunity to support students in my role.

On a day off from work, what would be your perfect day?
If it were a winter day, I would sleep in and then probably curl up with a good book and a cup of tea for whole day.

Favorite TV show and why?
This is a toss-up between "Grey’s Anatomy" and the "Great British Baking Show." "Grey’s Anatomy," despite probably continuing for far too many seasons, is like a reliable friend. It’s been with me since high school, so how could I turn my back on Grey’s now? And the "Great British Baking Show" because I love to bake, and I so appreciate how kind and supportive the contestants are of one another.

What is your favorite Indianapolis restaurant?
This is a tough question because part of why I love Indianapolis is due to its food scene. It depends on the day, but I would say that my top three are India Garden in Broad Ripple, Bazbeaux Pizza and Patachou.
