A year of impact: Student organizations, leaders recognized

By:

After a year of uncertainty mixed with virtual meetings and physically distanced gatherings, the Student Organization Awards were delivered to organizations and leaders across the IUPUI campus. This year, 41 awards were handed out.

The 2021 Student Organization Awards are an opportunity to celebrate and recognize individual students, advisors and programs and clubs and organizations that have made a significant impact on the social, interpersonal and professional development of their fellow Jags, as well as major contributions to IUPUI.

Assistant Dean of Students and Director Joe Hayes emphasizes that the awards recognize excellence within the IUPUI student organization community.

“This year is especially poignant because of the role our student organizations played in maintaining campus life in a virtual environment,” Hayes said. “Thousands of hours of events were hosted this year, and through those connections, student engagement and relationships grew. These relationships are what keep students involved and motivated towards thriving and finishing their college experience.”
