Wellness Days

Wellness Days

IUPUI’s Faculty Council Executive Committee has endorsed the designation of two wellness days in the spring 2021 academic calendar. This carefully considered decision was made after a review of student feedback about the fall semester, a discussion of impact on instructional contact hours, and a review of what other institutions are planning. These two days—Tuesday, February 23 and Wednesday, March 24—were carefully chosen.

Unless faculty members are teaching in a 13-week session, they were asked to not assign any work nor hold any classes on these days. These days may have been designated as Wellness Days on the syllabi. We encourage students to participate in optional planned programming to reduce stress and promote health and wellness.

For faculty members teaching 13-week sessions, they were asked to make the class content offered on these days available to students via some asynchronous mechanism, while encouraging them to take these days off.

The Division of Student Affairs has curated a selection of Wellness Days materials that you can find below.

Want to take your eyes off the screen for the day? You can opt in to receiving a Wellness Day package through the physical mail (shipping in the U.S. only).
