Interfraternity Council (IFC) Fraternities
Chapters within this council have come together in order to form a more perfect community, establish justice, foster cooperation, ensure open communication, promote general welfare, and to further the fraternity system at IUPUI.
Multicultural Greek Council (MCGC) Fraternities and Sororities
Chapters within this council affirm the multicultural necessity within the Greek community, so members of all cultures can promote diversity while displaying their own identities. MCGC unites to publicize diversity within the university and advance the ideas of fraternal values within the council.
College Panhellenic (CPH) Sororities
Chapters within this council stand for promoting scholarship, enhancing the health and well-being of members, upholding high standards, and serving the college community to the best of their ability. They stand for service through the development of character and are inspired by the close contact and deep friendships built through the sorority experience.
National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) Fraternities and Sororities
Chapters within this council are historically Black Greek-lettered organizations, also known as the “Divine 9”. A focus on African American heritage and history plays a large part in the values and activities of these organizations, but membership is open to individuals of all backgrounds.

Why should you join a fraternity or sorority?
There’s nothing quite like being a member of a fraternity or sorority.
Once you are a member, you’re part of a siblinghood that will support you throughout your life.
While you are here at IUPUI, you will benefit from the camaraderie you’ll find, whether you’re studying together, hanging out at social events, or doing community service. You’ll have the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of activities, including:
- Community service — philanthropy causes are an important part of fraternity and sorority life, and you’ll have plenty of chances to engage with our community and make Indianapolis a better place.
- Academic support — school is serious business, and you'll be able to take advantage of resources like mentors, study sessions, study tables, and scholarship awards.
- Athletic events — fraternities and sororities participate in several intramural leagues and are among the first to show up and cheer loudly for IUPUI athletic teams.
- Leadership development—whether you serve on a committee, run for and executive position or join the council leadership, there are plenty of opportunities to grow your leadership skills.
