Immunizations and travel medicine

One of the most important things you can do to safeguard your health is stay current on your vaccinations. You can get many of the immunizations you need right here, including:

  • Measles
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Tetanus
  • Diphtheria
  • Pertussis (whooping cough)
  • Influenza
  • Hepatitis A and B
  • Chicken Pox (Varicella)
  • Meningitis
  • Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)

Travel medicine clinic

If your studies are taking you out of the country, you can make an appointment with our travel medicine clinic to make sure you have the immunizations, prescriptions, and information you need. However, we do not have the yellow fever vaccine, so plan accordingly.

Travel medicine clinic services are by appointment only.

TB testing

All health care and beginning international students must get a TB test.

Healthcare students

Your first TB test may be a two-step test. That means a second test is repeated a week after the first one. After your first year, you only need one test.

International students

You need to complete a TB test before October 1 of your first year of classes at IUPUI.

If you’ve had the BCG vaccine, you may need to get a blood test rather than the skin test. We can help you determine which one is best for you.

If you’ve had a positive TB test in the past, you must supply us with a chest X-ray completed in the United States and all medical documentation related to your treatment.
